All Things Creative....

I am so behind on my sewing, crocheting, painting and all things creative! Work has become greatly demanding since the Singing scheduler is on family leave. Hubby has a new job working as a dispatcher and he is really happy with that. I have been working with my niece getting everything ready for the audition for costume design at the creative school. High school for her.

I have started drawing everyday to help inspire me creatively and hopefully it will help me.

Lets see,

Betty has a beautiful little boy. I love him just because he is here. The singing scheduler is in the process of adopting a little girl, I hope to see her one day. It will probably be at least 1 month or 2 before that happens.

Betty”s little boy I held in my arms and we talked and he slept. She has a beautiful family, and I am very happy for them.

Since my throat is starting to hurt I will be staying in this weekend my sewing studio will be completely set up. I can start on and finish the sling for Betty. It is so important to get the correct weighted fabric so it can be good and strong.

The game room is finally cleared of a lot of extra stuff. I now have a camera and so soon I will be posting pictures and keeping my blog up date.

My discovery!

As a little girl I did not play with dolls, did not play house. I climbed trees and explored how things worked. Tried to make my bike do things it was not meant to do. My mother complain when I was a toddler she would dress me in frilly dresses to play and I would prompty find mud or dirt. My mother and father had a loving relationship but I really did not see my father much. He worked the night shift. I had a close relationship with my mother. She taught me to crochet and make clothes. She kept a beautiful home and was a great cook. I felt that my father did not appreciate her enough so I decided that I would not get married and deal with someone who did not appreciate me. When my mother died it totally crippled my father. I realized just how much he appreciated her. When she first died he would just sit in a chair and just stare for hours. Finally I started talking to him and he revealed just how much he needed her. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS DRESS!

I was inspired by this blog SEW MUCH FABRIC, SEW LITTLE TIME. She is using her fabric stash to create a basic wardrobe. I just love all the T’s and skirts that she has made, so I have decided to work on doing the same. But first (no I am not putting it off) I have to finish this dress that is making me angry. I had a wonderful tropical print fabric which would have been the perfect summer dress. I kept the fabric for several summers and did nothing with it. I finally decided the make a dress; unfortunately it was not a summer dress. Well it is a summer dress but its not the perfect summer dress. I have decided to go back to not making decision when I am on my cycle. (ironic, huh!) Granted when you have not had a cycle for two months the PMS that usually sounds the warning bell is not so loud. Never make decision to cut your hair(I'm wearing a wig her name is Oprah) or use perfect summer fabric on a non summer dress. So my project is to redo this dress and create the perfect su...

I got the card in the mail today. You would have thought it was an invitation to the presidential gala! THE SALVATION ARMY GREATER PITTSBURGH WOMEN'S AUXILIARY FABRIC FAIR April 5, 2008 9am - 2 pm South Park Home Economics Building I have gone for the last 15 years and only missed one time. I can even remember what it was the stop me from making it at that time. It is the best place to get everything. Yarns, crochet hooks and knitting needles, quilting supplies, crafting materials, books, magazines, patterns,notions , crafting and sewing gadgets of all kinds and of course table and tables of Fabric! Wool for coats and suits, knits for tee shirts and sweats,specialty fabrics for all type of special occasions. Sheers, Lace, seersucker, cotton, silk, polyester, crepe, rayon, solids, flowers and prints. I love it and look forward to it.
