baby shower gifts

A coworker is going to have her first baby and she will be leaving on the 31 of this month. So I wanted to make a gift set of 4 burp cloths and 4 bibs.

These are the burp cloths

These turned out nice

I made 4 of them which was the suggested gift amount.

I should not have attempted to make the bibs just yet I was very tired.

The neck opening is to large and the bib is then to small.

I dont have any more of the fabric. So I will have to search for something different for the remakes

made 4 of these also. I am still getting the hang of the new camera so I have to figure out how to fix the orientation of the last 3 pictures. Tomorrow will be better.
I read a great deal of creative blogs and one of my favorite is homemadebyjill@blogspot.com She has some great ideas and helpful tutorials.

Thanks for the link!! Your projects look fantastic. And while the bibs look a little short to use for feedings, I bet they'd make perfect drool-bibs.

My discovery!

As a little girl I did not play with dolls, did not play house. I climbed trees and explored how things worked. Tried to make my bike do things it was not meant to do. My mother complain when I was a toddler she would dress me in frilly dresses to play and I would prompty find mud or dirt. My mother and father had a loving relationship but I really did not see my father much. He worked the night shift. I had a close relationship with my mother. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS DRESS!

I was inspired by this blog SEW MUCH FABRIC, SEW LITTLE TIME. She is using her fabric stash to create a basic wardrobe. I just love all the T’s and skirts that she has made, so I have decided to work on doing the same. But first (no I am not putting it off) I have to finish this dress that is making me angry. I had a wonderful tropical print fabric which would have been the perfect summer dress. I kept the fabric for several summers and did nothing with it. I finally decided the make a dress; unfortunately it was not a summer dress. Well it is a summer dress but its not the perfect summer dress. I have decided to go back to not making decision when I am on my cycle. (ironic, huh!) Granted when you have not had a cycle for two months the PMS that usually sounds the warning bell is not so loud. S Sew Together!! Good day! How was your weekend? I had a wonderful weekend the sewing event was a beautiful success! The Sewing Machine were in place and supplies are available just waiting for the people to arrive. I am very happy to have ventured out of my comfort zone it was very empowering to accomplish this! Our Mentors were working on sewing project while helping others ! Some who are learning were happy and frustrated. Lining the top of the dress can be a challenge but she conquered it! I cannot wait to see the finish projects of all those who took advantage of the event to start a project. First time at a sewing machine and so eager to see the finish result!
