To Grandmother House ......

At the hospital where I work Nurse CG has 2 little children, little girl who I will call Gigi and little boy who will be called Baby Will. She was explaining her dilema to me. She live a few doors down from her mom. On the day when she comes to work Her mother is off and she take the children. Every morning she has to take them to her mother Gigi gives her a hard time when it time to put on her coat. She has to Fight with her. I do not know what it is like to fight with a 2 year old but the look on her face and the tone of her voice tells she is at her wits end. Her little girls is so cute in her pictures and Nurse CG is so descriptive of the morning encounters that I can almost visualize it. Nurse CG has just finish putting baby will in car seat and turns to see gigi laying half on the couch sleeping. " Gigi put on your coat!" " NO COAT NO COAT NO COAT" " You want to see grand right?" " Yes" " You need your coat to go see gra

Awesome Foursome minus one

It was time for the Awesome Foursome to get together well minus one. If I remember correctly, the very first time we got together it was Betty, WC and Myself, we had dinner together. At Chili's because WC just loved the steak they had there. Then some time past and I arranged for us to meet at a mexican resturant which is pictured above. They all did not love it so it was going to be 1 of 3's turn to plan the next time we got together. She did not plan anything. So when Betty call and suggested the Light show at the conservatory, WC and I were ready to go. 1 of 3 has challenges that would not have been meet to her satisfaction at the conservatory so it was not mention to her. WC did say something to her but I will deal with that later. Betty has invited her, 1 of 3 to several events but her use of a scooter hinders her from accepting so knowing this we limit out invites to something we know she will have few or no objections to. The lights are beautiful as I e

Sisterfriend Gift

This is hubby and me on our way to our anniversary dinner. I will be using this dress pattern many times. It is very comfortable and I love the way it looks. Sometime before the end of this month I hope to retake picture of the completed sewing projects for the month. I really want to give you a close up on the fabric of this dress it is beautiful. I have a friend who has been apart of my life for over 30 years. She is like a big sister to me. You know the kind of friend that is around so much that everyone just assumes she is a sister and you feel that she is a sister so why correct them. That is her! She is very private so I will call her sisterfriend. She recently had to return home because her mom died. She wrote a beautiful letter to be added to the funeral cermony as tribute to her relationship with her mon and dad. She invited me to come to her family home because her mother was an accomplished seamstress. She showed me her mom sewing room and told me eve

Hugs and Kisses

I am feeling much better. I am back to sewing and reading blogs so I guess I should start back to posting. I do not remember the pattern that I used for this but it was to be a dress. I decided I wanted a skirt and vest. I was so happy to find the turtleneck in the perfect color. I will be working on more and posting more. So I will be happy to see more inspiration from the blogs that I love to read. Thanks to all my friends for helping me during my rough times. I know the road may seem a little smoother but i think I just got bigger tires! :) Hugs and Kisses to all.

Who built the Ark?

I received a phone call from my sister , she is involved in the bible drama that the children will act out for their congregation. The date of the Play is March 4th. Noah's ark! There will be 15 children in the drama not counting the one who will be the different animals going into the ark. Which is a great way to make sure every child has a part to play. She asked me to make the costumes! Fortunately she asked my cousin to help as well. Once I find my camera I will have pictures to post. The family of the child will be responsible for providing the materials of each costume. My sister thought those who did not have material could make a donation of 7.00 for the costumes. She caught me just as I am in the middle of making another mei tai baby carrier but it will all work out eventually. The first meeting will be this sunday and I should have the tunic which will be used as the beginning for each costume. This will allow me to make some adjustment and styling of the costume once I a

I need to sell some stuff.

This is a rocking chair for a little child. It was given to me for some strange reason. The seat needs repair. I would price it at 20.00 This is one of 2 fresco pictures that I got at burlington... I would price it at 10.00 This is a painting that I purchased from one of the home shows. I paid about 125.00 for it... sell it for 70.00? I got this as a housewarming gift after the fire in the house on hays street..... 10.00 This is a painting from the homeshow which I always have in my bedroom. I paid 250.00 for this... I guess sell it for 100.00? Everytime I attempt to post items on craiglist I never get any responses. These are personal items that I had before i was married so I will not have to hear from hubby " Why are you trying to get rid of my stuff?" I need to know how to word the ads and price it right so that I will successfull sell the stuff listed. Any help will be appreciated.

3 broken needles and a blister

This is a picture of my sewing room I took the pictures without the flash so you can see just how dark the room is. This is what it looks like with the flash on the camera. I wish my room had this much light. I will search out a Ott-light floor lamp that will help a lot. I have made up my mind to focus on the things that make me happy. I brought in the New Year the way I usually do. By myself in my sewing room. I made a Scandi Mei Tai When I am working on a project I can forget about my surrounding and just work and dispite the darkness it was not a major problem. My problem involved broken needles. When sewing through the padding on the straps and waist tie I was sewing through 2 layers of duck cloth and 4 layers of fleece and my machine was not cooperating. So at times I had to pull the strap through while stitching which of course moved the needle and so 3 broken needles later I decided to just turn the wheel and sew it slowly once I was finally finished I had a beautiful b
