Journal Workshop monthly Challenge.

I had great hopes to complete the monthly challenge. But I still see UFOs everywhere.

We moved into our new home 4 months ago and I still have boxes to get unpacked and stuff to put away.

The sewing/crafting area is still incomplete. Sigh! There is so much stuff still everywhere despite my best efforts.

This month was the busiest month I have ever had. Sewing jobs kept coming in and I still have 3 jobs yet to complete.

I searching for my supplies I did locate of lot of items and put them into their proper place. When I found all the different zippers I also found a dress that I had laid out and cut out and I thought oh I can finish this..... but the reality is it was only the back of the dress... who,, what... how did it get separated from the rest of the dress... I put it in UFO bin of incomplete clothing...

Four skirts were shortened.... I have to work on my hand stitching. I JUST VALUE A WELL DONE HEM. Three dress had zippers replaced..... 4 pants shorten..... 1 pant waist enlarged.
1 pairs of pants with holes in the crotch repaired....2 swimsuit cover ups completed. I also got a dress made for myself but I feel like I need to redo some of it. I should not rush job items that i do just for my self. I am my own advertisement.

I am in the process of making my first swimsuit so i started something new!

So today when I get off work. I will finish setting up the sewing studio. Hopefully I am not playing a practical joke on my self.

My discovery!

As a little girl I did not play with dolls, did not play house. I climbed trees and explored how things worked. Tried to make my bike do things it was not meant to do. My mother complain when I was a toddler she would dress me in frilly dresses to play and I would prompty find mud or dirt. My mother and father had a loving relationship but I really did not see my father much. He worked the night shift. I had a close relationship with my mother. She taught me to crochet and make clothes. She kept a beautiful home and was a great cook. I felt that my father did not appreciate her enough so I decided that I would not get married and deal with someone who did not appreciate me. When my mother died it totally crippled my father. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS DRESS!

I was inspired by this blog SEW MUCH FABRIC, SEW LITTLE TIME. She is using her fabric stash to create a basic wardrobe. I just love all the T’s and skirts that she has made, so I have decided to work on doing the same. But first (no I am not putting it off) I have to finish this dress that is making me angry. I had a wonderful tropical print fabric which would have been the perfect summer dress. I kept the fabric for several summers and did nothing with it. I finally decided the make a dress; unfortunately it was not a summer dress. Well it is a summer dress but its not the perfect summer dress. I have decided to go back to not making decision when I am on my cycle. (ironic, huh!) Granted when you have not had a cycle for two months the PMS that usually sounds the warning bell is not so loud. S Sew Together!! Good day! How was your weekend? I had a wonderful weekend the sewing event was a beautiful success! The Sewing Machine were in place and supplies are available just waiting for the people to arrive. I am very happy to have ventured out of my comfort zone it was very empowering to accomplish this! Our Mentors were working on sewing project while helping others ! Some who are learning were happy and frustrated. Lining the top of the dress can be a challenge but she conquered it! I cannot wait to see the finish projects of all those who took advantage of the event to start a project. First time at a sewing machine and so eager to see the finish result!
